Had a nightmare I went to see a new 'Superman' movie but the theater had complex technical problems, with screens moving and shifting, a projectionist climbing inside a rolled screen hanging from the ceiling, and all kinds of digital and analog noise in the picture. Infuriating.

We don't have any good conspiracies any more. Sure the street cars had problems but the idea of having meetings! Planning! Secret conferences! Overthrowing FDR! Real guy shit. Now it's all manipulating egg futures at your computer.

Is everyone aware of the General Motors streetcar conspiracy? In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.
