this one is so firmly in the fall category that I'm listening to it for the sake of pretending that it's already fall

we all have one of these, right
Idaho stops are life-changing. Avoiding high speed thoroughfares means cycling through neighborhoods where there’s a stop sign on every single block. It would be insane to fully stop at all 14 of them on my 2 mile commute. I’ve only had close calls when I have no stop sign but the car blows theirs.
the thing about the “Idaho stop” discourse that car brains don’t realize is that if it didn’t exist and cyclists stopped at all stop signs CAR DRIVERS WOULD STILL BE MAD because it takes a cyclists longer to get through an intersection so the car would have to wait 10 seconds instead of 3
feeling overwhelmed. time to attempt System Shock 2 again
bluesky, the social media platform for people who recite a list of op-ed columnist names before they go to sleep like arya stark
why stop there, I say. let's get that smokeshow in the damn movies!! enough Odyssey screenings, the people yearn for Douthat in 70mm imax
Scoop: I’m told that Ross Douthat is exiting The NYT and is expected to take a role at “60 Minutes.” News expected to be announced soon.
Ross Douthat looks like a Deadwood character who would get immediately beaten to death
"What was he named? What was it? I think it was 'Lovely John'?" - my friend failing to remember the name of The Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George
“13 Songs, Dr. Langdon? It was an EP collection, and it came out in 1989. Do you think you’re fit to be back in my ER?”
you could wake me from a coma instantly by standing in front of my hospital bed and saying "name a perfect album from the 90s that wasn't by Nirvana or Alice in Chains"
decided to bike to the park and read while it’s getting dark, completely forgetting that the summer jazz series is still going so I can hear that in the distance. pretty nice!
watched a truck at a stopped light at a major intersection pull into the bike lane on the right, then drive forward into the intersection in front of the other three lanes of stopped traffic to make a left turn. All on red. The kind of insanity you’d think someone would only do in a high speed chase
look, no one hates pickleball more than me, but pleeeease don't conflate Sean Clements' pickleball movie with all of the evil pickleball movies
my little herding dog is so funny. I got up obscenely early to work on something in the office before work and she wouldn't leave me alone. I checked to see if she needed food/water or to go outside, but no. she just wanted me to get back in bed, where the people are supposed to be at that hour
lots of buzz in the trades about my Young Havisham spec script. they say if I can get Margaret Qualley attached it’s a done deal
"but doesn't a Christmas Carol already have flashbacks to Scrooge's origins?" oh well do any of those flashbacks show Scrooge's dad rawing Scrooge's mom? yeah, didn't think so. checkmate liberals

around 2004 it had a "handwriting" feature that you could use to send drawings and if you and all of your little online friends had tablet pens it was pretty much the best shit ever

unionizing all the other guys i'm gangstalking with. We should get bathroom breaks when we tailgate a guy and flash our headlights at him. We need OSHA protections from the radio transmitters we install in teeth or dog collars. And I should get overtime if I menace someone at Lowe's on weekends.
something about Reba getting her own spot on the gatefold amongst all the sickos is very funny to me

scrolling through my drafts hoping that one has suddenly become good after an arbitrary period of fermentation
somewhat related but learning that Carl Tart, one of the funniest people on the planet, loves Family Guy and watches it every night has me questioning every opinion I've ever had
we talked about family guy being bad on today's episode and, while i'm sorry to lose this fan, but patreon should not make exit surveys anonymous. i should be able to show up at your house and demand to see your PhD if you say this
"I wouldn't be caught dead in a curbed bike lane" yeah, that's the whole point. you wouldn't be dead because the curb protects you
