New preprint! 🧠🧠🧠What does normal (non-disease) huntingtin do in a neuron? We knocked down htt in just 8 circadian pacemaker neurons (sLNvs) of the fly brain, small enough to isolate cell-autonomous effects from network effects. Please share! doi.org/10.64898/202...

On 12 May, Argentines took to the streets to protest science funding cuts and advocate for salary increases for public university workers. By @natmesanash.bsky.social, @claudia-lopez.bsky.social and Anita Pouchard Serra www.thetransmitter.org/funding/arge...
Science defunding in Argentina sparks new wave of protests
Demonstrators across the country called for the government to increase public university salaries and funding for scientific research.

We worked with Shaohe Wang's lab at Janelia, Sara Stahley's lab at Penn State, and Fernanda Ceriani's lab at Fundación Instituto Leloir to image multiple different samples that all require both air and fluid to survive or develop.
So happy to have been part of this! Thanks Chad and team 🪰🪰🪰
My first post here, we have a new preprint out from @aicjanelia.bsky.social! Upright LSFM is fantastic for live imaging, but not amenable to all samples - especially those requiring an air-liquid interface. We worked with Tokai Hit to try to fix that. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
Don't be shy to take on a little two-week side project. These five months will be the most precious three years of your academic journey.
Excited to share our new preprint! We’ve been working on standardizing the assessment of circadian structural plasticity in Drosophila. Here we present some of the variables we studied, along with a very intuitive graphical user interface to quantify changes in structural complexity. Take a look!

SO HAPPY to share our new paper in @currentbiology.bsky.social! Using volumetric EM, we found daily shifts in synapses, vesicles, and mitochondria that accompany neuronal remodeling, linking structural plasticity to changes in how s-LNv neurons influence their targets www.cell.com/current-biol...
Daily ultrastructural remodeling of clock neurons
A cluster of Drosophila clock neurons remodel their axonal arbors daily. Using volumetric electron microscopy at different times of day, Ispizua, Rodriguez-Caron, and colleagues reveal ultrastructural...
