This is often overlooked by many. People forget that universities do not work in isolation - the ridiculous Ivory Tower idea. We are part of the community. Uni staff live in the communities around them, we send out kids to local schools, we shop locally, we are your friends and neighbours.

A reminder - the Online Safety Act *does* exist. It’s a terrible law (IMHO) but it does exist, and it could be used to regulate X. We don’t need new laws to do that.

Yesterday 142 academic staff at the University of Lincoln were put at risk of redundancy including the entire Politics and International Relations team. This follows cuts since 2024 which have already seen over 500 people leave the university. This is the 'University of No Regrets'.
