bulwark-type republicans are welcome on the ship, but they need to understand that they are passengers. they already dashed their ship upon the rocks, they don't get to tell us how to steer ours.

A special election should immediately be triggered if an elected official switches parties. It’s effectively fraud. You pulled a bait-and-switch on your voters and betrayed them. You should not be able to go rogue as an elected official and not face consequences for years.

Here's something I post from time to time. My answer to a reader who asked me: what could journalists do NOW to break with some of their more corrosive habits.

Bild

"Why are people so negative about the economy?" Consider this. There are two possibilities: 1) He's right and my livelihood is screwed. Maybe not 18 months but soon. 2) He's full of shit, it won't happen, and AI is a giant bubble that will crash the economy. Why would I feel good about either?

Microsoft AI chief gives it 18 months—for all white-collar work to be automated by AI

I really love this legacy media environment in which I'm asked to pay $20/month to support traditional newspapers and then asked to spend another $29.99 for a supposedly essential book written by two reporters who could have already published that information in said traditional newspaper.

If you are a journalist still at CBS it's important to understand that the core tension between you and Weiss is that you think it's bad to print lies in the newspaper and she doesn't care.

again thinking of when The Free Press ran an article alleging that George Floyd was not killed by the cops, and @radleybalko.bsky.social proved beyond any question that the article was bullshit, and instead of retracting it Weiss asked him to come on her podcast

The GOP operative that the NYT used as a source despite admitting her allegations were uncorroborated. Also, she worked with right-wing groups to advance Kavanaugh. You can dislike and not vote Platner; that's fine, but why are you falling for an obvious right-wing hit job by the worst people?

Bild

You know, I'd be a lot more likely to trust that Platner is who he said he is if he had any kind of track record backing up his newly found positions. Why is US Senate the first thing he's running for? Whatever happened to establishing a local body of work before trying for national office?

More bullshit coming from men. Would love to see a majority of men on this App admit that Platner is a piece of shit and that defending his behavior is not the answer to a Democratic Senate majority.

Artists don't make art because they are looking to dominate the culture or make anyone famous. They're participating in a culture, being in the world together You people don't know how to do that and that's why your jokes will never be funny and your movies, art, and music will always be awful

Twitter post from Matt Walsh demanding that 'conservatives' advance their own 'creative and artistic vision' and 'make' their own artists famous
