One of the local historians I work with suggested I use Chat GPT for transcribing documents. He said it had an error rate of 20%. I tried it and found the rate higher. What’s more, the errors occur on the difficult parts I struggles w/ myself. Better off crowd-sourcing to my friends right here.

No. It’s not. Full public support for higher ed would solve all the problems in public higher education. An educated public is essential for the survival of the republic, and the republic is priceless.

Another killing by ICE, this time in Maine. That’s twice in one week. How can America keep asking immigrant workers to work as usual if they are being shot dead on their way to work? Stop killing us.
As I was driving with my wife and sis-in-law (both US-Mexico dual citizens) she asked what would happen if we were chased by unmarked cars? Would we run? How would we protect ourselves, or the teenagers in the back seat? Fight back? There is no safety. ICE=lawlessness.
At no point in their long and storied careers have Senators Graham and McConnell done so little damage to American democracy.
