Watching Jaws 2 and everyone makes the joke about the mayor from Jaws still being the mayor in the sequel, but what about Chief Brody?! He knew there was a shark out there but let people go swimming anyway. The whole govt was corrupt, Amity needed to clean house.
He took all the goodwill and momentum from the World Cup and drove it off a cliff in 2 weeks. A lesser man would still be on a yacht in Antibes, but not Gianni. He schemes 24/7, no vacations. It’s impressive in its own way.

FX already did a grimdark Christmas Carol adaptation a few years ago. And it was as entertaining and enjoyable as it sounds. Credit where due, given all the hundreds of movies over the years, it’s surprising no one else thought to flashback to show us why/how Scrooge sucks. What a concept!

Exactly 10 years ago, I finished packing up the rental van and got on I 70 to move from Ohio to California. Trish and the kids flew out the night before. I’d spend the next 5 days driving across the country alone barely staying on the right side of a nervous breakdown.
TCM is airing a John Carpenter curated a movie marathon right now. I guarantee it’s the best thing you’ll find on tv this evening.
