"Mayor Karen Bass’ office said the problem dates back to before her election in 2022." This is simply not true. While the applications were submitted before her time, the critical years where nothing happened after the money was won were under her watch. www.latimes.com/california/s...

We could know results twice as fast if @lacountyrrcc.bsky.social worked normal 8 hour days. Why are we only processing/scanning 4 hours a day?
I’m sure the law passed in Sacramento had good intentions, but what exactly am I supposed to do with this information?
We literally can't afford to live as car dependent as we do.
Do Angelenos even realize what % of their daily stress is caused by having to drive for every trip?
Not only does Mexico City protect its bike lanes well with very inexpensive barriers, but they also blink at night to be extra visible. Protected bike lanes don’t have to cost a fortune.
Even with an iconic transit line opening, @metrolosangeles.bsky.social sends out an email giving instructions only for people driving; apparently they’re even validating 🙃
Amazing to me that the Mayor of LA sent out an email update on her plans for climate action improving infrastructure and there's zero mention of bike or bus lanes, Measure HLA, first/last mile to Metro, or anything else that would actually help reduce VMT. Instead it's about EVs!
At this point Santa Monica feels like another planet compared to LA
There’s only one candidate running for CA Senate District 24 who is a champion of safer streets and building more housing at the scale we need. Vote for @johnericksonwh.bsky.social by June 2, we need a fighter like him in Sacramento!
LA’s first real modal filter outside of Hollywood is officially in the ground! Sweetzer and Rosewood
Despite all its problems, I still love LA. It’s worth fighting for.
The man who never met a freeway he didn’t want to widen, and who is currently chair of the @metrolosangeles.bsky.social board, Fernando Dutra, lost re-election last night! Good riddance.
Listen to @michaelschneider.com speak with Congresswoman Laura Friedman yesterday on her bill to unlock federal dollars for technology to eliminate police changes. Not only could this lead to safer streets for all, but also to the end of police helicopters in LA! youtu.be/T-GWS8OLtzU?...

The more LA’s leaders and bureaucracy try to sidestep the will of the voters, the more taxpayer dollars will be wasted on lawyers. Enough games!
BREAKING Second HLA Lawsuit filed asking a court to rule that: 1. Large Asphalt Repair not HLA exempt 2. Slurry Seal not HLA exempt 3. Community Plan updates don’t override HLA LA needs to stop trying to find loopholes & implement the will of the voters! labikas.wordpress.com/2026/04/08/t...
American fire departments: - demand wide (unsafe) roads - multiple car-length red zones for hydrants - huge fire trucks Somehow in Japan: - trucks half the size that still put out fires - tiny zones for hydrants (helped by no street parking) - narrow (safer) roads everywhere
Meanwhile in Japan… Having an amazing bullet train system with 4 minute headways since the 60s wasn’t good enough so they’re doing this. I’m so tired of the US spending nearly all its transportation money on car infrastructure. I want nice things in my country too.
