The media's complicit in "LLMs have agency" narrative. What OpenAI and Anthropic "did" was "not doing security". They FAILED to create a sandbox and control their software. THAT is the story: incompetence. Yet, the media spins incompetence into "wow! cool awesomeness".

We're going back to punching holes in paper cards, circa 1950-60s. Humans will need to learn to communicate in binary, of course. No biggie. 🤷♂️ Very on-brand for the conservative nostalgia movement, with a hint of steam-punk.

Tech is missing the easiest AI monetization strategy AI enabled products are free. Upsell to non-AI version. Folks are flocking to "dumb" phones and non-tech gadgets. A non-AI strategy is fucking common sense at this point.

One of the "features" of LLMs and AI is obfuscate decision making and transfer accountability to the models. People want to defer to "computers don't make mistakes" posture and it's like, "No. That's not how this works."

LLMs don't solve problems because they cannot reason nor think. At best, it's statistically to produce an output based on its training. Harnesses add some logic capabilities, but LLMs are still just guessing. Nothing has changed. 🤷♂️
