Haven’t read the second half of Simonson’s THOR run in decades, so I wanted to see just how much of its covers I remembered. Completely blanked on a couple, and the numbering’s are all over the place, but I did okay. I like these brain / memory exercises.
HeroesCon 2026. Walter Simonson and I will be taking it to the stage. Friday, June 12, 2PM, Room 208. You will not want to miss this panel. Fiffe Files Live. It’s gonna be for the books.
Bin Diving MEGALIST! This is a list of places with affordable back issues, primarily $1 bins or priced-to-move comics. It's mostly comic books shops, but the occasional antique store or discount warehouse pops up. Alphabetized by state/city/store name. Gimme some recs: michelfiffe.com?page_id=9802
This recent COPRA Master Collection 2 hardcover represents a very specific time in Studio Copra: shipping out comics as fast as I could make them, exploring the cast like never before, pushing the experimental angle when it felt right. (Increasingly so.) 1/
COPRA Master Collection 2 is in stores TODAY! If you’re reading it for the first time or revisiting some of your favorite COPRA issues, I hope you enjoy this gigantic hardcover. 400+ pages of handmade art-action comics via @imagecomics.com Get it today at your local comic shop!
Creating COPRA is officially SOLD OUT! You can still read it over at my Patreon, including a new chapter/postscript. Check it out, the first part’s free. Not bad for something I thought I overprinted! Thanks to those who caught the book. It was a lot to unpack, and I hope you found it useful.
I know why people say superhero comics are hard to get into because you can't just start at #1, but this is really true in a way I can't explain until someone's gotten into them. It's less of a consecutive story for you to know all the angles and more like following a sports team in the end
I forget the exact post, but one of the truest sentiments I've seen about comics is that your first issue shouldn't be Year One or Watchmen or The Dark Phoenix Saga, it should be the eighth installment in a long-forgotten crossover event called like The Mindwar Canticle
This piece from @michelfiffe.bsky.social may be closest I’ve ever seen Morbius come to actually looking cool

The final Fiffe Files on Keith Giffen is here! This series was a thing I had to get off my chest and share with the world. Came out exactly how I envisioned it: direct, raw, super thorough, off the cuff, non-scripted, warts and all. Thanks for joining me in my obsessive mission: youtu.be/LXYkbH1x7iE
Just heard that a popular new cartoon struggled as a comic for years. Reminds me that a financially viable subculture is a relatively new idea. Cult creators/alternative works remained on the outskirts of monetary sustainability. If you wanted a career in these fields, you had to sell big numbers 🧵

Sam Kieth. His style was harsh, delicate, bizarre, it was all the things. So rich and unique you can spot it a mile away. He showed us that even when the world tells you otherwise, being different is okay. More than okay, it’s imperative. RIP
Here’s a flip thru of the upcoming COPRA Master Collection 2 — I’m telling you, it came out perfectly. I’m not just saying that because I wrote & drew the damn thing, it’s an impressive artifact by any measure. Spread the word, we wanna make sure stores are stocked up! @imagecomics.com • MAY 20
Sin palabras. Es una Obra de arte que necesita sentirse. @michelfiffe.bsky.social Estreno 26 de Marzo
CANIFF. OTOMO. GOLDEN. Tracing the roots of cartoony heads on realistic bodies, a tradition I first saw articulated by Frank Springer (in a talk about Frank Robbins). You don’t choose style dissection as a lifestyle, it chooses you.
Can’t stop thinking about this Jim Shooter bit about DC editor Mort Weisinger.
