The Bandit whut hangs out in trees. MTB is fine. 20 year Maineiac From Away. N.B.: I do not automatically follow back.

Unless all of the other 51 Republicans (Mitch is still absent) are voting yes, I predict Thune has Fetterman's vote. Since the main objection was the weaponization fund, the supposed change to the deal will persuade Fetterman he can support Blanche. This gives Collins room to vote no.

Susan Collins announcing she'll vote against a controversial nominee is basically the moment it becomes clear that nominee will be confirmed. It means Thune has enough votes to confirm, and thus, Collins gets a pass to look independent.

Hey, has anyone noticed that the leftists yelling at Beshear, and predicting Mitch would be declared dead the moment the deadline passed, have been really quiet lately? Could it be because Mitch is NOT dead and they are embarrassed?

I was knocking on doors today in Farmington - someone I talked to said that a Collins canvasser had been there a few days ago. When she asked the canvasser a question he said "I don't know, I'm from Colorado." So she is using out-of-state money to pay for out-of-state canvassers. #mepolitics

So apparently a maine Republican legislator who doesn't understand the laws he's passing is claiming Troy Jackson is not eligible to run for the Senate because he says state law does not allow anyone to run for two offices at once, and the sore loser law doe snot allow it. Bullshit. For 2 reasons:

Hey guys, can we stop making the Republicans hiding Mitch McConnel the fault of the Democrats? Again? If the Republicans want to short themselves a vote in a nearly 50/50 Senate, I say Mitch can take all the time he wants to recover. Let him have the rest of his term.

This is a misstatement of the provision, framed to exploit the inherent anti-Semitism of the Left by invoking the "dual loyalty" trope. The provision does need to be removed, but it is NOT a physical merging of US and IDF forces. .

Dr Nirav Shah and Shenna Bellows have withdrawn from the Maine Senate nominating contest, basically locking it in for Troy Jackson. Congratulations are in order for Susan Collins on getting another easy win. (I'm still voting for Jackson, because I am pessimistic, but still have hope in miracles).

Unpopular take: It's popular now to say that Trump was in charge of the election he is calling fraudulent in 2020 while Obama/Biden were in charge in 16/24. The Constitution puts the job of selecting electors for presidential elections on the states. The states ran all three elections not the feds.

Someone please help me understand why it's so important whether McConnell is still in the land of the living. Seems to me, having him ouf of the picture is a good thing; one less vote. His seat is already being contested in Nov. I'd rather leave the GOP with one less vote for a few months.

A friend reposted a thing from David Sirota that began "I'm not from Maine so what do I know?" SO STAY THE FUCK OUT OF MAINE'S BUSINESS ASSHOLE! WE DON'T GIVE A FUCK HOW YOU THINK WE SHOULD CHOOSE PLATNER'S REPLACEMENT! Sorry, feeling a little anger right now.
