I checked in to KU Med Center on Friday morning for what was described as a five-to-seven-day stay for chemo. That was 8 a.m. At 12:30, my least-favorite oncologist arrives to tell me that it's actually a TWENTY-EIGHT day stay.
I mean, I do okay, you know? That said, I became smarter when I realized that being smart isn't actually rare and doesn't excuse being a shitty person. I wasn't special for being smart! Lots of people are!

So, during the deer scene in 'Stand By Me,' Gordie LeChance is reading a comic book in the summer of 1959. The comic in question is Gang Busters #66, from DC Comics, with a street date of August 1958. *Whew*. That really could have ruined the film for me. www.comics.org/issue/14660/
We shouldn't discount the fact that at least part of the data center backlash (and by extension the broader techlash) is because people feel like the tech industry has not given them anything cool, inspiring, beautiful, or useful in a long time

The thing about cancer is? I'm a Midwestern golem made of beef and powered by spite, and even the doctor says I'm as tough as a two-dollar steak, but nobody told me about the math, or the exercise... I hate those, yes.
