Actual moose. Mommy aka Bruh. Retired army science officer. Did some cool stuff once but now I'm old and tired. Science strategist most recently doing research development and programs. Opinions are my own.

Next home project to complete involves my stovetop. One of the burners doesn’t switch off correctly when it is at set temp. So, I get to learn about how that thing is put together next.

A very smol garter snake from my garden. It fell out of some containers I was moving - I didn’t even notice til my son pointed it out. I’m so excited that this friend is in there. Please eat the mice and such!

I had to tie the panicle hydrangeas to a stake to keep them upright. These flowers are HEAVY. Every year I cut these way back and every year they bounce back like crazy. This is one of two.

Monarch caterpillars really active about now. I see several different stages running around, and leaves disappearing off my milkweed plants. Which is always a good sign for me. I want them growing and succeeding! The plan is to get some Joe Pye seed planted for next year to start off with

Oh, I came up in a Special Interest town. (When I was out in the country, no town to speak of.) From the time I got out and about in the world, I knew there was an unusually vanilla flavor to the place where I grew up. This explains several things actually.

If you're wondering whether your town was a sundown town? Check this map. Shout out to everyone that immediately noticed that most sundown towns were not in the South.

Back to school and back to soccer shopping season has tired me the fuck out. I don’t want to go to any more stores. I will pay a little extra to get a few things here. Okay please let me leave this place now. Ugh.

Sometimes a power blink will fuck up my HVAC system, and I have to power the whole thing down and back up once or twice. Which is super annoying when I don’t catch it right away. Not sure if this is an electrical thing or this particular system. No other electrical issues since new main fuse. 🤞

Really banged up my hands the other day- now that the open wounds are scabbing over and the inflammation is decreasing, the bruising is becoming more visible. Dang, that did not seem like such a trainwreck at the time!!

I feel I have to keep the mountains of shoes my teen has outgrown in the past 18 months, just because the tween is about to do the same nonsense. But what about the dozens of shoes? They just… sit. And wait.

No good deed ever goes unpunished if you go work in public service. Case study: Tony Fauci. Everyone thinks they’re a qualified expert, so even Aaron Fucking Rodgers is running his idiot mouth? Look how low we are going. Goddamn, man. There are experts in the government for a reason!

Ladies, if you’re due for your annual health screenings make sure to get them scheduled. I was a little bit overdue but I’m on the books for my doctors now. Men too- you have different health screenings to attend to, but it’s important to get those done as well. Best to stay well, all of us.

So after being awake for 2 days, and making myself busy the whole time except for some time trying to sleep… I finally slept and also I’m sore as fuck today. Maybe I’ll get to my project tonight, not sure though.

Back to the old army ways when I don’t sleep at night. Get up, become busy, have a shitty coffee (at least it isn’t the PX), have a candy bar with the coffee. I’ve run 3 errands before 7:30. I’m not happy about any of this, but I am productive.
