Miguel for Ward 1

Miguel Trindade Deramo ⭐️ Malcolm X Park enthusiast, ANC 1B chairman, and pro-democracy advocate running to be Ward 1’s next Councilmember

Ward 1 CM: You've got some great options! I'm not a Ward 1 resident, but I can say @miguelward1.bsky.social has been a joy to work with both as an ANC, and as an active transportation advocate, so please rank him (#1, why not?).

I’m disheartened by the open letter that criticizes my fellow candidate, Aparna Raj. It is extremely important to me that all candidates be treated with civility and respect. We worked so hard to pass ranked-choice voting because it incentivizes (1/2)

A stark reminder of the real consequences of federal overreach in DC. I've stood against it since day one. Our leaders' continued silence is unacceptable. I'm engaging with ANCs & law enforcement to understand what happened. I will continue to demand transparency & accountability

There's video circulating on Insta of a tense scene in Mt. Pleasant last night: More than a dozen federal agents were in Lamont Plaza arresting a man for an open container violation. A woman holding a bat began heckling them, prompting US Marshals to draw their guns on her.

Truly the kindest, charming-est birthday message to receive. Thank you for being a friend! And for the sage words. Next round is on me.

I am honored to receive a 10/10 score from the Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance (GLAA). GLAA has a long and important history of fighting for LGBTQ+ rights in DC, and I would be thrilled to partner with them to advocate for our community on the DC Council. Get involved: miguelward1.com

This gay D.C. Council candidate wants Washington to live up to its progressive image

Miguel Trindade Deramo is running on a message of institutional trust, community safety, and the belief that values mean little without implementation.

This is the first big ad I’ve seen from the D.C. Board of Elections ahead of the coming June 16 primary. Clear and to the point, plenty of information without being overwhelming. Extra points for patriotic color scheme, slight demerit for no incorporation of D.C. flag.
