Why does the NCSC insist on persisting with the term two-step verification (2SV), when literally no-one else uses it? It confuses the messaging of MFA for end users
If you're looking out for good Boxing Day deals, stay ahead of scams by enabling 2-Step Verification (2SV). Keep the fraudsters out of your online accounts with an extra step to verify your identity after a login attempt. Learn more: https://stopthinkfraud.campaign.gov.uk/

Heading to DefCon this year? First time? Head for noobvillage in the Community Rooms on the 2nd Level near The Diana Initiative and Lonely Hackers Club. Look for folks in these cool pink vests (not goons, just friendly volunteers for our community happy to answer questions).
Just to clear up some misinfo, a BGP hijack was not the cause of Cloudflare DNS going down today. At 21:51 UTC, Cloudflare (AS13335) withdrew both 1.1.1.0/24 and 1.0.0.0/24 for an unknown reason. I suspect AS4755 was always announcing 1.1.1.0/24, when CF went away, it leaked a bit (%2).
I read a simple quote that has seen me through tough times “if I can survive this, and I will, I can survive anything” If you’re having a rough time I hope this helps. It has helped me on and off over the years.
It has come to our attention someone has ILLEGALLY distributed vx-underground stickers at @BSidesLeeds and @stickerstalluk. We are OUTRAGED. This sort of theft has resulted in damages exceeding $2.50 — maybe even as high as $5.00. We demand JUSTICE (cat pictures)

I had a ridiculously good time volunteering for Hack Glasgow yesterday. If you can make it to a community driven infosec event do it. If you enjoy them maybe try volunteering. The events don't happen with volunteers and honestly its so worth it.
Today is going to be a good one, hope to see some of you lovely people there!
