Trying to be an optimist 🤷‍♂️ And love any country strong enough to give him the 🖕

So much gratitude to everyone who joined us in pushing back against this latest toxic attack from Labor on migrants and refugees. Solidarity, we will always be there fighting with you. We know they will keep trying to see what brutality they can get away with.

RIP. Will never forget what Dolly told me about politicians. "I don’t think any of ‘em are trying hard enough... they worry more about their party than they do about the people. If we just do what we felt was the right thing... None of them are working from the heart." 💙

Just because big tech companies want to move at hyperspeed, doesn’t mean we need to fast track & roll out the red carpet for them. We need to consider very carefully the impact on workers, as well as the mega extraction of our intelligence, knowledge, culture, water and energy.

The next federal election is a long way off and I still have plenty of work to do on housing, securing super for under 18-year-olds, holding KPMG to account and reforming the Big Four firms. I remain committed to continuing my work on climate and environmental justice.

Just remember it's wages *expectations* that the RBA is worried about. And poor Ampol had no choice but to charge higher prices and have profits go up 376%. Good thing it only cost the govt $3.3bn to artificially lower petrol prices, no one else had any need of that money...

Charts showing wage, inflation and Ampol profit growth 2025-26

Wages: +3.2%
Inflation: +4.0%
Ampol profits: +376%

Gas giant Woodside announced its half-yearly profits today, and the results are incredible but not surprising. While Australia suffers through an “energy crisis” the gas companies are reporting record profits, well in contrast to wage growth and inflation. #auspol

Australia: Didn’t want Woodside license extended to protect indigenous sites. Happened anyway. Didn’t want AUKUS, continues anyway. Wanted real gambling reform, won’t happen. Doesn’t want data centres, happening anyway. Why? Donation and future jobs for pollies. We are an oligarchy now. Fact.

Devastated to see Barbara Pocock won't re-run, but overwhelmed with gratitude. A relentless fighter for whistleblowers & against the Big4, a fierce champion of accountability & truth. Wishing her and her partner all the strength in the world right now. Thank you, @barbarapocock.bsky.social
