Retired housing and social care chief executive.Ramble and rant about nonsense, politics and Sheffield Wednesday but not necessarily in that order. Always got something to say, mostly rubbish but always kind. Sheffield and Thornham
Why are the media not covering Bonehill-Paine story as antisemitism in the Tory Party ? Just imagine if he’d been a Labour candidate under Corbyn.
Why aren’t the BBC and others holding the people who created the prison crisis to account. We wouldn’t be needing to reinvent the Probation Service wheel for example if Cameron and the Tories hadn’t decimated them in the first place.
Tell me,should you be zooming in on MapTap to try and pinpoint the location or just make a general considered tap. Asking for a friend.
Can’t wait for the oil company profits to trickle down. Oh …..
We’ve certainly got our Wednesday back. Kicking off about ticket prices. The good times are back 🤣🤣 #swfc
"It's just insane how patronising some people are to their readers." @mrjamesob.bsky.social isn't a fan of the newspaper coverage of Andy Burnham's holiday.
If we don’t release existing convicted criminals where are we going to put newly convicted criminals ?

Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.
If you increase sentences, take 25% out of the Justice budget, destroy probation services and don’t build prisons is it any surprise we are in crisis. All whilst everyone clapped good old Clarke when he rushed to please Cameron and Osbourne to be the austerity champion. You didn’t need a crystal ball !

When will these people learn. Allow the Gobshites in and everything collapses.
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
I’m thinking the starting 11 at Oldham is likely HP’s strongest team. Valery comes in for Palmer if he stays. With the back up squad responding to injuries it ought to be enough to keep us in L1.
So it seems Reform were Making Plans For Nigel. They only wanted what’s best for him.Nigel just needed a helping hand !!
Honeymoon period seems to be over for Pederson. I’m guessing after a couple of early season defeats it will also be over for the DoF,CEO and Storch. Fans will probably be calling for a boycott come October. #swfc
Only 25% of the Greater Manchester electorate could be bothered to vote in the Mayoral election. Does this indicate the level of public apathy to local and regional government ?
Does the proposal to give Mayors a share of Income Tax mean all Regions getting significant extra new money or is it just a re-slicing of the existing cake ?
That’s what I call a Ploughman’s sandwich, halfway round Dam Flask
My dad died cash poor and relatively property rich. My sister and I inherited his house which was worth way way under the current IHT threshold. Would it have been the end of the world to pay say 10% of the eventual sales price to contribute towards a national care service ? Of course it wouldn’t.
This sums up everything that is wrong with this Country. I will probably be derided for saying it but Marx was right it’s all about Class 😡 www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Just seen on the news reports that Harlyn Bay witnessed over 230 instances of sewage discharge last year. Makes me so sad and angry. Fantastic memories made on that beach. How do we let these water companies do this 😡
Sixty years ago today I can remember my mum saying after Haller scored the opener, that the team scoring first never wins the Final. Don’t what she based it on but it’s stuck with me all these years. Dad wasn’t happy in the morning because Greaves wasn’t playing. He cheered up later.
Some folk fear for the Country being taken over by immigrants. I fear for my Country being taken over by people who are fearful of immigrants. Funny old world.
In our area today Yorkshire water have been carrying out maintenance which has meant opening a main in the street and letting the water run off into a drain. Must have been ‘000s of gallons lost. In times of drought why not collect some in a large tank and give/sell it to a local allotment group ?
