I've experienced some pretty brutal peer review for articles, but I can happily say my conference experiences have only ever been positive for Q&A after papers.

We are excited to see that our forthcoming book, Greek Prepositions in the New Testament: A Semantic Description, is officially listed: Baker Publishing Group Amazon Logos Bible Software We are in the midst of the laborious process of reviewing galleys right now, but hope to see proofs in the coming months. Originally, the hope had been that the book would be available this fall in time for conferences, but we took some extra time this past January to add visual figures and image schemas for each preposition article with the hope of improving its usefulness for students.

Doing a read through of Carl Bache's The Study of Aspect, Tense, and Action for maybe the first time in 12 years+ and I had forgotten just how good it is. Also: only now remembering that Bache literally gave me a copy and signed it. Also, also: my computer's webcam is crap.
Adding a “How To Use The Library” scavenger-hunt assignment to my intro to Roman culture class was the single best addition to my pedagogical practice last year. Am now creating versions for basically all my classes moving forward. Also, the students LOVED it.

I’m not saying genetic material can’t add to our understanding of the past but, seriously, journalists and scientists need to stop framing this stuff as if historians haven’t been asking and researching these questions for literally hundreds of years.
