honestly the main reason to play DnD is to make tragic Blorbos. My warlock was a ruin diver who spent his life finding artifacts and uncovering and learning the history of his adoptive country, only to be knocked to his death. His patron found him, resurrected him, sort of. He's not doing GREAT.
