Isekai as a genre is exploding in popularity because it appeals to a universal desire to get hit by a truck rather than live in the 21st century.
it's charloh! (it/its)
@charloh.online

happy Wednesday we woke up to a notice of wage garnishment 🥲
okay well we should probably crash out an hour ago bye
sometimes I dream that I'm alive under the stars, under the sky then I awaken, paralyzed to another day that I cannot face
we grew up within walking distance of the Weird Mall but we didn't know it until the mall had been demolished and replaced with a strip mall, with the movie theater being the thing that got to stay where it was We used our first paycheck to buy a boom box from the Montgomery Ward there
tell me about your town’s weird mall
btw if you know anything about us you know we are terrible at actually giving ourself credit or compliments when we say we were good at tests: our HS Gov teacher gave our class, as an ungraded project, an abbreviated version of the US citizenship test. 2 of us scored well enough to become citizens
oh we were a very diligent and attentive student right up until our senior year tbh, bc education in the US is entirely about how good you are at taking tests and we were REALLY GOOD at it but realized far too late that that's a skill with absolutely zero value after school is done
this is the mirror effect in response to every "I'll never need this in real life!" in K-12
locking in to find out about a topic I never thought about, cared about, and am sure I will never in the rest of my life use or bring up in any way, but I just found out there's a 3 minute video about it gotta hear what this complete stranger with seemingly no qualifications has to say on the matter
*gestures vaguely at the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and Peacemaker* ... it's possible we just have similar musical tastes to James Gunn, now that we realize those are the top contenders
Name your fav use of licensed music in a soundtrack.
today Youtube music gave us a badge for being in the top 0.07% of listeners of AFI in July 2026 so we're probably doing great
the invention of CNN and, with it, the 24 hour news cycle is perhaps the most devastating creation of man since the nuclear bomb.
It would be rad if we didn’t have minute-to-minute coverage of elections and just reported results when they were finished. This exasperated, hyperventilating theater is good for ratings but also just bullshit.
is this person literally 16 years old and brand new to the job market or like. what's going on there.
Guys like this don’t realize that they are the freak
absolutely not. we'd be like a gimmick character except the gimmick is physical ineptitude.
if you and all of your bsky mutuals were in a fighting game together do you think you'd be at least somewhat tournament viable as a playable character
goddamnit now we wanna watch Nimona again
Oh yeah, I see why you guys like Nimona
anyhow now that we got some food we're gonna watch IRON MAN 3
a cool thing that happened to us is that somewhere along the way our ability to feel hunger got like. broken? which might sound nice but as we sit here lightheaded waiting for the food we eventually remembered we need to show up we are not especially enjoying the reality
it's probably fine that we either dry heave or full on vomit every day around 5pm right? regardless of what or when we've eaten, sober or high, whatever else we're doing suddenly gets paused for our regularly scheduled misery
we've got 96.2k skeets that prove this claim to be false
On social media, a broad consensus is that you can’t admit to struggle — at least not while you’re struggling. Doing so represents a failure so profound it’s almost existential. How did it become mandatory to demonstrate perpetual growth and progress online?
Yo you posted this on the wrong social media platform. All we do is talk about how we're broken as hell over here. You're thinking of LinkedIn

okay we've hit the wall for tonight goodnight bsky, and good luck
one of these days our ability to make decisions is gonna get one right
you know we used to accept the narrative that if time travel was possible we woulda seen time travelers by now but we're starting to think they exist but know better than to come here, the same we feel about extraterrestrial life
it will never not be funny that Dorsey made this place to get away from what Twitter had become, only for the invite only nature to not only deny his cryptofascist buddies, but to become the life rafts extended to the parts of Twitter he hated most
That said, let us take a moment to thank our Bluesky Trans and Furry Elders for freaking out Jack Dorsey so much he bolted and left us this nice social media playground, taking most of his crypto chuds with him. We thank you for your service.

we're gonna watch THE INCREDIBLE HULK aka the MCU movie that they mostly swept under the rug bc they didn't wanna keep spending Edward Norton money on ensemble movies bc they hadn't started printing billions with the MCU just yet
