Sal Sawler@salsawler.bsky.social · 6mo agoThank you so much to Canada Council for the Arts for continuing to fund the critical Public Lending Rights program. Once an author or illustrator registers for the program, they start receiving a check every February to compensate for books that have been checked out from the library.
Why should it be harder for a woman to vote than a man? The Save act disenfranchises millions of women of their legal right to vote and I encourage @slotkin.senate.gov and @peters.senate.gov to vote NO.
If what they say is true about sending ICE to monitor midterm voting locations in key democratic cities (like Detroit), it seems to me that a robust public relations campaign by @jocelynbenson.bsky.social needs to be implemented NOW in Mich. (plus 28 states) to encourage no-excuse absentee voting!
