I don't know how, but through the years I achieved an uncanny ability to spot russian games. I see an X-Com clone about mercenaries in Africa, and I get this strange feeling, go on Steam forum and...

I'm tired of waking up every morning and reading about Ukrainians killed in their sleep by russians. Of reading stupid comments about "russian security concerns" and "poor russian conscripts". Of having to endure criminal slime such as Trump and Rubio laughing at our suffering. I'm tired, boss.

🚨 BREAKING: Russian missile strike on Kyiv kills nine and injures 27. On August 1, 2026, a Russian missile strike killed at least nine people, injured 27 others—including four children—and sparked fires across five districts in Kyiv, according to local authorities.

Right-wing playbook: - some event with no tangible consequences happens - it gets quoted as an evidence of "WEST FALLEN" - further production of million soundbites and clips happens - right-wing ecosystem amplifies it to absurd importance - calls to genocide It is this way EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

40,000 of the roughly 50,000 who entered have now already left, barely a day later, but it has created a far-right whirlwind on all of the large social media platforms. This non-event (migrants died but they don't care) will now be permanently etched into the minds of the worst voters and parties.

🕯 In the village of Radushne, residents gathered to honor the memory of the Voronov family, killed by Russia. Russian ballistic missile struck the home of a large family during Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine on July 30.

This is heartbreaking 💔 Ukrainian defender Danylo Voronov has lost his 1.5-year-old son, parents, brothers, and sisters when russian missile struck their home.

I think it's healthy for people on Blueksky remember that the people who run the editorial offices of most of the prestige media and commentary outlets in the country hate 🫵YOU🫵 in particular more than anything else.

Watched The Killing on Saturday (great film) and this quote keeps bouncing inside my head, especially the part about seeing artist destroyed at the peak of their glory. It is one of the themes Zero Parades talked about - and it happened to ZA/UM in real life. Man, being an artist is tough.

It's kind of funny when you look at some people Trump appointed (e.g. Rubio, Colby) and realize that they weren't given the respect they think they are entitled to not because of DC court intrigues, or DEI, or "deep state", or whatever. They were sidelined because they are just bad at what they do.

When someone says a state is "unviable" for independence, what really meant is - "I think only Great Powers have a right to exist". And by "Great Powers" such people mean "states who want to commit genocide on a mass scale". Genocide is an essential requirement for Great Powers club.

I saw a post describe PR as a micro-state that was unviable for independence or free association. There are over 3 million people who live on Puerto Rico.
