sometimes you just have to listen to enya in the bath

However many cat-themed nesting dolls you were expecting to find in the permanent collection of the Museum of Russian Art, I assure you the real answer is: more than that

I tried ordering a suitable folding bike case for my return journey but per the tracking info I have just received it looks like it’ll be arriving in Minneapolis the day after I leave, so, future attendees of Tom’s residency who happen to have the exact model of folding bike I do: you’re welcome

Woke up mad early to ritualize the Jupiter cazimi and took a strange mid-morning nap as a result so I can now say, after lunch and a strong cup of “dark rose” tea, Good Morning

It absolutely rocks that the MIA is FREE wow unbeatable!!! Good museum with a medium-confusing layout, I think I at least glanced at most of it today, the galleries of Native art are extra special

I just did a huge series of drawings partly inspired by Les Enfants du Paradis and had NO IDEA that my cherished hometown mall was also inspired by Les Enfants du Paradis??!!!! I myself literally WAS one of the buskers the designers envisioned!!?!??!!!

Now that I've mastered the 38 hour train ride between Portland and Minneapolis I can confidently say I'd do it again: I saw a heron, a pair of swans, sunset over North Dakota and sunrise over Minnesota, tottering baby calves, bright yellow algae, bright green algae, wildflowers of many colors, etc.

I got rid of the carrying case for my folding bike a couple of moves ago so I am currently constructing one out of a bunch of old cardboard boxes; whatever I do I really AM my father’s daughter

My precious little cat has decided to sleep under the bed more or less directly under my own sleeping spot and it’s soooooo sweet and so funny to hear him shift around under there when he stirs

Last fall, my friend Ursula organized us into a Neo Boys cover band for Halloween, and this summer, we played at the release party for the reissue of Crumbling Myths WITH PAT BAUM ON THE DRUMS

I had such a nice time on this pod!!! Tune in to hear me chat about all 900 things I am doing at any given time!

This week on the J-Card Podcast we spoke to Rose Lewis (@milkshakemotel.bsky.social) of Portland-based punk band Love in Hell. We had a great chat about her music, plus her work in visual arts, radio, DJing, zine publishing, benefit show booking, and more! tapeclub.substack.com/p/rose-lewis...

It IS weird that I have lived in Portland, Oregon, for almost seventeen years, and have been an active participant in the punk scene the entire time, and yet have only played Olympia twice

Based on this photo you might not be able to guess that mere moments before it was taken I ate an entire container of chicken salad with my hands because I forgot to have lunch on the way home from playing a show in Olympia

A woman in a very snazzy jumpsuit gazes superciliously at the camera while seated on a low green sofa with many framed drawings on the wall behind her

It IS funny that mercury retrograde featured so prominently in the story of how Martin interviewed us because it sure is fucking up our departure timeline for our eventual arrival in Seattle this evening. I remembered to pack my phone charger at least!
