Thanks muchly for the kind words. Hope the remaining chapters resonate as well. To others who feel like enriching their vacations w/ my @illinoispress.bsky.social book, I remain happy, for a small fee, to accompany you on your trip & read the book TO you. Especially if you're going to Sardinia.
The first 5 chapters absolutely spoke to me and how I found music that resonated with me in high school and was exposed to much more (in my case) in college. Zoomed through these first 5 on day 1 of vacation. Thank you @millerscave.bsky.social 🙏

Same thing happened to me last weekend at the Detroit Festival of Books. Totally agree with you.
Someone said to me, "I'm sorry but I got your book from a library." Nobody should ever apologise for that. You read my book! That's brilliant! I grew up hanging out in libraries and the idea of a world without them fills me with dread. Without libraries, authors, like readers, will only suffer.
Saw him AT LEAST 20 times, and he never failed to go beyond "entertaining" and reach "astounding"

My 2026 MICHIGAN NOTABLE BOOK tour ends this week. If you are in the area, would love to see you. Depending on what @craigmaki.bsky.social asks me, it could get weird. Detroit/Ann Arbor music history, the importance of community...we'll hit it all. #booksky📚 #musicbooks #insurgentcountry
the 'authors shouldn't use big words' thing is so antithetical to the way I read. It's a JOY to learn a new word. Isn't it exciting to come away from a book knowing something you didn't?
Hey SE MI!!! Come on by to my FREE public library event in Saline this coming Wednesday. It will be smoke & Taco Bell lettuce free! Interviewing me will be @craigmaki.bsky.social , a fine author himself. The music geekery will be in full flower. #booksky📚 thesuntimesnews.com/bloodshot-re...

You might be wondering how you can support an author when you're short of time, money, energy, etc. But honestly, making your own post about a book helps us! The more people who are talking about a book? Well, that's how buzz begins. You can do that on whatever sites you use.

Am I the only person who hates the word "drizzle?" Especially in regards to food? It is my "moist" (another oft-cited hated word).

Regarding what is considered the "classic rock canon", 33% I actively despise, 33% I am utterly indifferent to, & 33% bores me. But once in a while, something in that remaining 1% jumps up & bites me in the ears. The freaking James Gang, mf'ers.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=zo0v... #classicrock
