The personal data of millions who use the largest online UK pharmacy are routinely sent to US & foreign data brokers, who publically declare themselves as profiting from such data. We told the UK companies responsible over 6 months ago, & then the ICO in April, & no action has been taken.
One of the data brokers we complained about admit to collecting gender identification and sexual orientation data. Potentially sensitive search query data are also passed on. In all cases users' refusal of consent is ignored.
Incontravertable & meticulously collected evidence of this breach has been sent but the ICO has not even assigned someone to look at it yet. Is this what citizens are now expected to put up with @ianmurraymp.bsky.social?
John Edwards is gone but the impact of domineering & abusive behaviour at @infocommission.bsky.social may remain. There are indications this led to good & well-motivated people leaving & more broadly to extreme difficulties in challenging a cavalier approach to #dataprotection regulation.

The actual issue is where user consent is actioned I.e. enforced. Originally it had to be by site-administered JavaScript because DNT & its API were allowed to be ignored. The lobbyists called this the cookie banner approach which they undermined by emphasising performance over enforcement.

Spot on. And its unfortunate that some reading this comment prefer social media trickery, e.g. blocking & dogpiling, to entering into constructive debate.
