A junior cub reporter at a local paper would have been fired for this. There must be a reason why these BBC...mistakes, I'll generously call them... always favour the Right, and have done for years. But I'm stumped as to what it could possibly be. Real head scratcher.

Who would ever have thought that the BBC’s political editor would put out a single source claim that was both false and also great propaganda for Reform…

Giving massively disproportionate coverage to people who repackaged their bigotry as "legitimate concerns", and then, crucially, not challenging them, has been a catastrophic approach by the British media.

I'm from Newry. I lived in Belfast for years. The neglected areas where many immigrant families live are where violent far-right scum have been smashing the windows of young African care home staff and Asian nurses for decades...

They were definitely not so outspoken when *actual* two-tier policing led to Black men "falling down the stairs" in police stations, young Asian men got stopped for driving BMWs, and Irish people (hi 👋) were routinely arrested on suspicion of being a Paddy.

They’ve been at this catastrophic, wildly inflammatory bullshit *for 15 years* and it was a fraud and a lie in 2011. All the politicians and media figures who have participated in it - and there have been hundreds - deserve to be clapped in the stocks and pelted with rotten fruit.

"The fear of being seen as racist... is being put above keeping the public safe"
Shadow equalities minister Claire Coutinho says the facts of the Henry Nowak murder show "a discrepancy in how people are being treated" by the police

At what point will the 'fascism will never happen' smugsters finally accept that it's already here? Maybe when Trump imposes curfews, bans public gatherings and 'temporarily' suspends elections, disguised as 'emergency legislation'? Will that do it?

Any Irish citizen who accepts an MBE, 'honorary' knighthood, or any other silly trinket from the British establishment should be forced to surrender their Irish passport and lick King Charles' bare arse live on TV.
