AI has made spellcheck function worse in my personal experience. Like I cannot stress enough that my arguments against AI are not only that the tech being advertised as AI is immoral, it is also deeply ass in terms of actual capabilities. Because it's a massive scam.

When people say they’re anti-AI, they’re clearly talking about generative AI in the arts and LLM slop that C-Suite jackoffs want to use to replace them. You know this. I know this. Everyone knows this. So the “then don’t use spellcheck if you hate AI” talking point is disingenuous horseshit.

dude on a skateboard rocked up to us at the area outside the con and asked if we skateboarded. told him I did a lil bit of longboarding and that's it. He taught my entire group to do a little skating and gave away a mini skateboare to us. I feel like I just did a Yakuza sidequest

Genuine ask, am I crazy to think someone "both-sides-ing" the woke 1/2 discourse is engaged unintentionally in dog whistles that are being used to push that narrative? Because it seems like unintentional and lowkey racism. And in a way that is pushing harmful narratives and encouraging intolerance.

Every other day, 83-year-old Marilyn Tewa of the Hopi Tribe loads buckets into her pickup and drives 5 miles to haul water. “That’s what keeps us alive,” Tewa said. Four states stand in the way of a deal to give her community water. (Published June with @kjzz.org)

Native American Tribes Came Together to Secure Their Rights to Colorado River Water. Four States Are Stalling the Deal.

Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming are resisting the deal because it would allow the Navajo and Hopi to lease water to cities downstream, likely the growing towns around Phoenix.

The people outraged over the academic freedom of Cofnas (which is apparently the freedom to harass & drive a man to suicide) I dont recall your outrage for the profs who got harassed & fired for speaking on Palestine I'm just a silly gal, I guess I dont understand what I'm free to do as an academic

It goes without saying but just in case: You absolutely do not have to hand it to JK Rowling. Even if she DID mean what she says about trans adults (which she doesn't, she is constantly attacking trans adults just trying to live their lives) it doesn't mean anything given the HARM she has caused
