So grateful to the Trust CPD Leaders' Forum, @samgibbs.bsky.social and @missgoodyear.bsky.social for sharing my blog post all about the importance of context! www.trustwidecpdleads.com/blog/context... The forum is a wonderful space for learning and collaboration!

Congratulations to all from our sector receiving honours. It is great to see any and all efforts to restore our profession to a respected and valued pillar in both individual children and families lives but also the significant contribution to our wider collective benefit. 👏👏
Exactly this. It's like people have forgotten how to recognise a good thing and a positive change. I've now resorted to full-on debates with people about their irrelevant links on Facebook. Fight the good fight and all of that...
Odd dynamic: 1. Government announces a positive policy. 2. Campaigners welcome it. 3. Other people reply angrily 'But what about the 45 other policies we need to address X?!' As if 'I welcome this good thing' means 'Job done'. Even though you also said 'They must also do...'
I grew up on free school meals, I know the difference they can make. So I’m deeply proud that our Labour Government is taking this decisive step to turn the tide on child poverty — it is our moral mission. Me for @labourlist.bsky.social ✍️ labourlist.org/2025/06/free...

Really pleased to read about this appointment. This really is a brilliant move to bring his sector-level expertise to the heart of policy-making. He will give this role the deep, critical thought that our schools' challenges deserve. Fantastic! schoolsweek.co.uk/headteacher-...

Fabulous to see @trustcpdleads.bsky.social getting a mention from @samgibbs.bsky.social in the TES this morning. Couldn't agree more and really sings to what we are aiming for in our free Forum-too much public money wasted on short-term, shiny fixes-we have to build capacity from within. Great job!
This a fantastic piece from @samgibbs.bsky.social. It’s so important to look at the brilliant expertise from within rather than assuming that paying someone on the outside to deliver an off-the-shelf approach is going to be your silver-bullet. It isn’t.
Loyalty should never come at the expense of integrity. Anyone who asks you to violate your values doesn’t deserve your allegiance. Respecting your boundaries is a foundation of trust. The people worthy of commitment expect you to stand by your principles, not conform to theirs.
This is such a thoughtful piece from @andrew-oneill.bsky.social , which emphasises the need to also develop the capacity of leaders in Trusts, LAs and schools to be astute in noticing and seeing the interdependence of the "quiet failures". Involved in school improvement? Read this 👇
To ensure the education system is inclusive, equitable and sustainable, we need to look beyond spectacular crises and start fixing the quiet failures – before it’s too late, says @andrewoneill.bsky.social
"Teachers are the heart, they are the soul of every school. That was true 500 years ago. It’ll be true in 500 more. Education is a deeply human gift, given by one generation to the next." This is so refreshing :sensitive plans for thoughtful tech implementation with all the right caveats considered.
Loved this @womened.bsky.social panel session at The Next Decade conference yesterday. Perfect words from my friend @missgoodyear.bsky.social - ‘in the absence of a system, take it upon yourself to do the work’.
Mother's Day is a big day in our house and it's been a wholesome and beautiful one with our two boys. Feeling fortunate and very very lucky.
Really important to feed in to this - NPQs have brought welcome equity and a framework we can build on, but they need far greater contextualisation and a broader research base.
The DfE has launched a call for evidence as part of its national professional qualification (NPQ) framework review, urging the education sector to 'get involved'

It was great to have introduced Isaac to some of his edu-heroes today. He was spoilt with cuddles and love. It felt symbolic holding 12 week-old Isaac as 200+ colleagues discussed a path towards a flourishing education system. There's so much hope for the system and the answer lies within.

Clearly there is an orchestrated move against the work of @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social that seeks to derail what is, overall, a strong move towards a more equitable system. I am a MAT CEO and I have no issues with the Bill and support her work, and mandate, to improve our system.
What an amazing community @trustcpdleads.bsky.social, @samgibbs.bsky.social and @missgoodyear.bsky.social you hit a chord at the end of the session. It’s often not the outcome we achieve or the model we use, rather the conversation that it sparks that can be crucial. @shaneleaning.com
