Next time you find yourself tempted to reply to a negative comment, think about all the positive ones you didn't reply to. Why are they less deserving? If you must, reply to all the positives first and save the negatives for after. If you can't be arsed at that point, GREAT!!

No party campaigned on age verification. Nobody the US voted for this. Nobody the EU voted for this. Nobody the UK voted for this. Nobody in Australia voted for this. Some don't even know it's happening. Meta lobbied for this and got their way within a few years. Let this radicalize you.

Saw a couple of posts from US artists saying BSky is now asking them for age verification. Please follow the link in this repost. I’m the UK we’ve had this crap going on for over a year. The methods listed here work great, it’s what I use it (no way I’m providing personal info!)

UK folks: If UBlock is not working anymore for you to bypass the UK age restriction rules (no way I'm giving them personal info), please be aware that the codes to copy/paste into UBlock's filter rules have changed! gist.github.com/mary-ext/6e2...

this was drawn in the early 2000s, but hasn't aged a day. the playbook of right-wing attacks on queer people, sex workers and freedom of information stayed the same.

a political cartoon showing a man in an uncle sam outfit with sunglasses laying hands on a box labeled "US government, control of internet speech."

a man in a business suit labeled "corporate media" asks: "how would you like this wrapped?"

behind him are rolls of wrapping paper labeled "anti-terrorism" and "protect kids" respectively.
