I roll through my local thrift shop a couple times a month looking for cameras. Why? I don’t need more cameras. Most times I don’t find any, or if I do, they are broken or not what I want. Yesterday I got three “vintage” digicams for $20. 2/3 work. The third I can’t test yet because I need a charger

Spent the morning making small #cyanotype prints from my 620, 120, and 35mm negatives using the Let’s Resin compact UV lamp, Jacquard Cyanotype kit, and Cason watercolor paper. Worked pretty well, though I learned a bit about what works and what doesn’t. Here’s a whole gallery of the good ones.
Jamey is a great writer, an all-around good guy, and a wonderful colleague. It’s his birthday, so buy one of his #books. If you like short #fiction, you won’t be disappointed.
It is. It really it my birthday. Which means I am begging you to do one of these things: 1. Buy one of my books. 2. Rate/review one of my books. 3. Request one of my books from your local library. jameyg0.wixsite.com/jameygallagher
My first attempt at toning a #cyanotype with coffee didn’t turn out great, but it was a start. I will try it again on a print made on better quality paper, and I think I will use tea next time, too.
This month’s #postcardsfromafar showed up a bit worse for the wear, but many thanks to @jayabhat.bsky.social for the lovely print captured on a #Yashica. Another for my Bluesky Gallery.
Look at this amazing #cyanotype and letter written on a #typewriter from @paulasmith.co.uk! The print will be proudly displayed in my Bluesky Gallery.
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

I use #Wix for my webhosting, and they seem to be experiencing a major outage right now. Oh, well…you’ll have to wait for the next Shutterprof.com #blog post. I know you are all crushed and disappointed, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

Being into film photography also means trying to coax along old film cameras, most of which are now being used well past the window of what was probably their intended lifespan. Even the much older ca...

I think I am gradually coming to the conclusion that I do not particularly enjoy developing color film nor do I particularly enjoy scanning it. Regardless of what setup I use to scan it, I can never come close to getting lab-quality results when it comes to colors, no matter how much I fiddle.

Just learning about this earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan. One of my best friends lives there. I have reached out but haven’t heard back just yet. I realize many are without power and I suspect communications are disrupted. Hope he and his family are safe. asia.nikkei.com/photos/in-fo...

Shout out to @robertscamera.com / @usedphotopro.com. The Sony a6000 is the second camera I have purchased from them, and I feel like the experience has been seamless both times. Their product descriptions are accurate, prices are fair, shipping is prompt, and they stand behind what they sell.
Here is the very compact mirrorless camera scanning setup which I have attached to my enlarger stand. I’m using the #Lomography Digitaliza Max kit for my negative holder & light source. Found a cheap clamp, tripod head, and power adapter online. Also have a data cable coming to tether my laptop.
Okay, I'm officially a camera #film digitizing convert. Here is an image digitized by the Sony a6000, converted in Lightbox, and then imported into iPhoto for minimal final edits compared to the same image digitized by the Plustek 8200i AI, converted in Silverfast, and then imported into iPhoto.
Gemma is SO talented and just needs a little boost to get back into school and eventually back into the world of world. Help a queer, disabled artist out! I’ve been following her for a while. She is the real deal.
Good news everybody! I've got a really big bill to pay for an incredibly great reason. I'm not going to be able to take advantage of this opportunity without help. I hope you'll all see the huge returns such a relatively small contribution will bring 💖

I got some decent shots out of that Fisher Price #110film camera. Plan to do a blog post about it, but here is one of the images from the roll that was scanned this morning. This one I think I shall dedicate to @papashittycams.bsky.social because for some reason I think he’d get a kick out of it.
A day late for #SprocketSaturday. Just got these developed yesterday and scanned this morning. The expired film of unknown provenance had lots of color shifts and curled badly. This was the best of the lot IMO. Taken back in May on a #photowalk at the Canton waterfront in #Baltimore.
A warm reminder that submissions for the first edition of #KeyChainVisions are open through July 31. Thank you to everyone who has already shared their #KodakCharmera images. We'd love to see yours! 📷. form.jotform.com/KeyChainVisi... #ToyCamera #LoFiPhotography #Charmera
