Long time, no update. This is what I've been up to: Building a tall bike out of junk bicycles I've found on the streets.

Dreamt I was fencing with a woman while the song "What I Am" played in the background The woman had just been fencing against a friend of mine, and she was a cheat and a sore loser. She lost to my friend and was insulting her. When I stepped in to defend my friend, she challenged me to a duel.

My algorithm here broke again and now it only shows me people's pictures of plants. This is actually a huge improvement to this site.

This has been a quixotic quest for no reason other than to see if i could do it, but I did do it: I've created a ceramic circuit board with copper traces that I can solder components to. Here's a little astable multivibrator circuit running on stoneware.

Did you know you can use a Dymo labeler to make a headlight symbol if you're willing to take the labeler partially apart and emboss by hand?

Thinking about how well a refrigerator could run on solar power alone, without a storage battery. If some space were sacrificed in exchange for thermal mass (jugs of water), how well would it keep things cold from dusk to dawn while it's unpowered? I bet pretty well, if you didn't open the door much

Dreamt a long dream in which i and a group of friends and family had survived a worldwide calamity that had involved huge waves of water rushing over the planet and destroying much of civilization.

I threw this pot from 15 pounds of clay. That's a new personal record for me (the previous record was 9, yesterday). Throwing this much clay is a lot of effort! That's a big mass of clay you have to center and force into shape. I was sweating.

This mug is made entirely from materials I gathered myself. There isn't a single store-bought or company-supplied ingredient in the clay or glaze. I finally did it!
