The Ocotillo Lodge is a quintessential example of Palm Springs’ playful resort modernism. Its colorful accents, dramatic rooflines and iconic champagne-cork-shaped pool capture the glamour of midcentury desert living. Did you get to score some merch during Modernism Week? 😉

Built in 1957–1958 as the J. W. Robinson Department Store, this Pereira & Luckman design earned the AIA's prestigious First Honor Award. Thoughtfully restored in 2016, it remains a shining example of how great midcentury architecture can evolve while honoring its original vision.

Proud to award 22 scholarships totaling $106,000 to outstanding Coachella Valley students pursuing studies in architecture, design, preservation & related fields. Of that amount, $73,000 was provided through Modernism Week + an additional $33,000 in matching funds from OneFuture Coachella Valley!
