@tally.so sent this email, & it's a masterclass in how to notify your users of a breach. Plan English, what happened, what was exposed & what wasn't, explains a technical term w/o sounding condescending, how & when they knew, & actions they took, specific advise!

Email from Filip Minev co-founder of Tally Forms (Tally.so) of a breach, and goes into very easy to understand details regarding what happened, what didn't, what was exposed, what wasn't, and what steps to take next!

Everyone thinks pricing is an art form, but its just trial & error, if it doesn’t work with one price, you try another. And you keep trying until you get it right and you get some traction. If you never get the traction, then you have a bad product!

Recently downsized our home. Just didn't need the extra space anymore. No little kids running around these days, grandkids on the weekends. It got me thinking about something else I've been trying to simplify: my software subscriptions. The goal is fewer subscriptions, and fewer tools. 1/2

People that knock on people's doors during the middle of a work day and expect you to talk to them and not understand that we're either working or relaxing. NO we don't want to stand there and talk to you, go away!

I scheduled a call w/ someone today, I didn't realize it was a phone call, I was looking for a video link in the calendar invite, and all the time I was looking for it, and then reached out to them via email, they were calling me on the phone, which I ignored cause I really don't talk on the phone.🤷‍♂️

Oracle laid off 21k people. I don't celebrate layoffs. There are real people behind those numbers, families behind those people, and bills that don't care. Oracle said the quiet part out loud(screenshot attached). 😔 Anyone affected, I will always try to help! www.bbc.com/news/article...

AI is the cause of the reduction in human workers.

At the end of the film Sneakers, David Strathairn's character, Whistler, gets to ask NSA Director played by James Earl Jones for anything. He asks for peace on Earth & Goodwill. The director says: "We're the United States Govt, we don't do that sort of thing." How true that was.

AI is exposing our bad habits. Tech has always helped people do more, and do it faster. But it's also helped people that wanted to do less appear to do more, and do it faster. People will always find a way to do the bare minimum and get paid for it. AI isn't the problem, people are.

Getting rid of years of notebooks...the end of an era! Not really sure why I kept it all. But alas, now its trash! Notetaking by hand was truly how I remembered most things.

Work books when I was working on two client sites in SF & NY at the same time.Notebook w/ many tabs to keep track of specific clients and their needs.audio stuff, if you know you know.

Meta is tracking how employees use Google & LinkedIn to train AI. Search habits, research patterns, how people move through information. At what point does it stop being about training models & starts being about how much behavior companies think they’re entitled to observe.

Palantir dropped a manifesto. That alone should tell you where we are right now. When companies start publishing “culture documents” to explain their culture, it usually means something’s already off. Strong cultures don’t need press releases. Employees proudly brag about it.

Palantir posts mini-manifesto denouncing inclusivity and ‘regressive’ cultures | TechCrunch

Palantir's ideological bent has come under more scrutiny as it's worked with ICE and positioned itself as a defender of "the West."

Big name ≠ safe. Government app, big launch, looks official, cool (not really!) But: Tracking everything Asking for way too many permissions Can change behavior without updates Shout out to @chrismessina.me for calling it out. Honestly thought it was an April's Fools joke.

Product Hunt launch for "The New White House App", it peaked at #19Chris Messina's comments on the security issues, and red flags! Worth noting, and paying attention.
