When I was 7 my mom would drop my brother and I off at the arcade while she went shopping. 5 decades later I'm dropping my wife off to do some shopping and taking myself to the arcade. Thank goodness for arcades, though there was a dark time in the middle years when they weren't around.

As a teenage goth some friends and I laid around on the grass outside the hospital ER pretending to be dead. The hospital staff were at least slightly amused, but we were still asked to leave.

A golden retriever in a hooded jacket stares out of frame. The fur under their muzzle implies a beard.

By far the funniest moment in Homer’s Odyssey is when Circe says, “Shall we have sex?” and Odysseus says, “You just turned all my men into pigs. You have the GALL to think I would sleep with you? Of course I will. Absolutely. But don’t do any weird spells”

photograph of the relevant passage in Fitzgerald's translation of the Odyssey ("I make no bed of love with you upon it. Or swear me first a great oath, if I do, you'll work no more enchantment to my harm.")
