we're not talking about the fact that i took a break, completely changed my plot and have started rewriting. simply take this snippet for the Monster Manor #GoldenSpringShowersDash snippet contest and enjoy. (does this also count as #WIPWednesday? idk)

Once upon a time, on a planet long dead, the gods roamed our lands as we do. They were arrogant and possessing of unfathomable power, able to bend the limits of time, space, and reality to their will. They created, and, indeed, destroyed, as they liked.

Among their number was our god of the mountain, Kazimir. He engaged in much revelry, holding fabulous parties where he would drink and dance for days and nights, drawing in hapless humans to join him.

He would offer them each a gift of gold, and each would ask, “What do you want from me?”

Kazimir would reply, “Why should I want anything from you but your company?”

And so the humans would join him. They would drink, and dance, and be drawn into his bed. They would pass days and nights without rest, never noticing that they were long dead until the party ended, and they would collapse, lifeless, onto the ground.

I pushed the curtain aside to reveal the woman in the picture with the purple hair snoozing away in bed. She looked beautiful in the photo, of course, but seeing her in person like this, with her eyes closed and her face soft in slumber, she almost seemed like a goddess. It certainly didn't help that I very much had A Thing for older women. Although, Jasmin didn't mention quite how old she was. She could be close to her original age, or she could be centuries old!

I looked down to see an adorable cat curled at her feet who was…purple? Was it some kind of special vampire cat who could have unnatural coat colors? What else would I discover about this bizarre wor-
