This is a story about the President and several of his hand-picked appointees all committing crimes and blatantly lying to the public while stealing public funds and abusing the criminal justice system, but the NYTimes describes the situation like they're recapping a soap opera.

Another example of the problem with the fixation with Trump’s putative emotions: here a story about the Trump administration’s corruption, incompetence, and venality is framed as one about Trump’s “wrath.” www.nytimes.com/2026/08/01/u...

🚨 NEWS: In a new court filing, Capital One says Donald Trump’s accounts were closed in 2021 after months of analysis by its anti-money laundering (AML) professionals, not because of politics, as Trump has long claimed. 1/

Let’s not forget that this illegal Reflecting Pool indictment was also overseen by Todd Blanche. He could have stopped this at any time, but he was a corrupt and willing accomplice to this fraud upon the court. How can any decent person possibly vote for this man as AG?

When I offered my amendment to kill this slush fund, Republicans said we should accept Trump's word that it was dead. We knew they were wrong. This is why.   Even in the middle of an illegal war, with prices rising, Trump wants to send your tax dollars to criminals & save his sweetheart tax deal.

Tweet from Seth MacFarlane: And there it is:

Team Trump appeals the lower court order against his $1.776 billion slush fund & sweetheart IRS immunity deal

Trump challenges to 11th circuit in Atlanta

Lower court (Florida) judge eviscerated Trump's slush fund in her order

Booker: They are thinking about setting themselves up to build epic empires of wealth. And that’s why Trump is pardoning people who then go into business with him. That’s why Trump is trying to undermine the rule of law—to make sure he leaves office with more wealth than was ever conceivable…

So many sneering elitist journalists with snarky posts over the past months that the Reflecting Pool story was trivial. It was so trivial that the DC US Attny presented false evidence to a grand jury to indict an innocent man to please the President while they both lied about it.

“Should Max Miller resign?” Jim Jordan: “He’s a good man. I’m helping him get re-elected.” Kasie: “He’s accused of throwing boiling water on his ex, held a gun to her head, fractured their daughter’s collarbone…”🤔 Jordan: *stammers helplessly as she plays his Platner comments*
