this is more of a PSA for people new to mods. This might seem great on first view, but modding is never just a 'one click do everything' for me type of thing pls actually take the time to learn how devkits, penumbra and Texttools works before just blindly downloading stuff. More explaining below 🔽

Deleting Skin! XIV Guide (kind of) by Beeeee

A quick guide on why you should delete skin under gear modded and vanilla.

New, casual or experienced modder. Doesn't matter. Deleting the skin not only prevents clipping, but it also reduces the file size. Everyone has different computer situations so making your mod's file size as optimized as possible means it is more user friendly! Especially when using mod sync plugins. Don't crash people's computers. Be mindful of your load size pls

But you should still try and delete when you can where skin isn't visible! Other gear mods have more coverage!
An arrow points to a long-covered dress vanilla mashup. For this mod you don't need skin at all! After you are finished upscaling it, YEET THE SKIN!

Yes, some gear mods do require all of the skin to show so it makes sense to leave all the skin. Gear like this mainly includes underwear, sheer, lingerie and so on. Sexy garments etc.
In conclusion, delete the skin. Decrease your file size. The C+ baddies will thank you.

Hello everyone.

This is a very difficult post for me to make, I'm a private person as far as my life offline goes, but desperate times call for desperate measures. My current position is extremely precarious, some circumstances with life and work pushed me past my limits, and I found myself hospitalized, then unemployed, and struggling to get a new job. I've been doing my best since, but I have yet to hear so much as a rejection from ANY of my applications. To keep myself and my cats fed, and a roof over our heads, I've started a GoFundMe. a trick to making readable mod previews is to zoom out on your preview or step back, and squint at it, if it's blurry and far away can you still kinda tell what it is? if yes then it's probably a good preview

$A number of changes are being made to the categorization of items previously listed in our Other Category: The Dalamud Plugins Category has been introduced. Items in this category must/should link to explicitly a Github repository and that Github repo should include the associated Dalamud Repo link users can paste into Dalamud. Only FOSS (Free and Open Source) Plugins are allowed on XMA going forward. The Modding Tools Category has been introduced. Items in this category must/should link to a download page as usual. This is for explicitly tools which help create or maintain mods for FFXIV. As with above, only FOSS content is allowed, though how you wish to share said source/etc. is up to you and does not explicitly need to go through Github. (Ex. Some tools are simple blender scripts or things like that) The Applications Category has been introduced. Items in this category must/should link to a download page as usual. This is for other FFXIV-Associated applications which are not explicitly modding tools, but are still FFXIV-related. As with above, only FOSS content is allowed. Additionally: The Contributor Information block has been renamed to also include AI related information. AI-generated or AI-assisted content which does not have appropriate attestation information may be removed without notice, and repeated infractions may result in your account being removed. (This will be added to a separate form/searchable at a later date) Also, the Modding Tools Category has been added to the default/non-logged-in frontpage listing, but the others have not. That said, for all existing users If you wish these to show up on the front page, you will need to add them to your preferred categories in Dashboard => Settings => Preferred Types$

I tried to remake my favorite gpose last night and I'm actually SO fucking mad. All I got was garbage because the new DT fog effect in Amaurot is actual, genuine trash. LOOK at this. First image is my original shot, 2nd is just how it looks without reshade, 3rd is with reshade.
