I left Bluesky for 7 months just because the app stopped auto-logging me in. So either I am very lazy, or needed a break. Maybe both.

If 3D card prices explode, I guess we'll have to make lower fidelity games so that more people can play them. And that might force us to instead invest in fresh gameplay to help differentiate new games from existing titles. And maybe this means smaller, innovation focused teams. Hmm...

Name ideas: Sea of Pixels, Sea of Cannons, Battle for the Ectoil Sea, Cannon Party, ... ? 🗳 The plot/lore is that you're poor ship-captain mercenaries fighting over a sea region that is flush with "ectoil", a fuel from dead leviathans. The gameplay is just pew-pew though, so it's not that deep.

Finally some #screenshotsaturday shots of the game I've been working on for a few weeks for #GitHubGameOff It's a 2d, #javascript, physics-based, #p2p game where you frantically fire cannonballs at each other to get the high score. It still needs a name.

The answer to how do we keep kids safe online isn't destroy everyone's privacy. It's not force people to hand over their IDs to access legal content. And it's certainly not ban access to the tools that protect journalists, activists, and abuse survivors. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

Thinking back on the billions Facebook spent on the metaverse... and wondering why they didn't try to build a Steam/itch clone as a first step? Seems like the obvious move for a for-profit company with a giant network.

This has many of the things I love: ☑️tiny moons, ☑️weird beautifully ugly aliens, ☑️robots, ☑️procedural generation, ☑️ecosystems.

Hi #PitchYaGame! In Biolune, play as a robot fascinated by organic life. Gather friends and resources, and cultivate evolving ecosystems where there were once deserted moons. Including seriously bizarre procedurally generated plants and animals. Wishlist: store.steampowered.com/app/3070190/...

I can relate to this! My #js13k game was rated poorly in part because the gameplay was slow and lengthy. I always set out to make something "fun" that will "win"... and then settle on an overly complicated game that I (and only I) find interesting.

The main takeaway from #js13k 2025: don't sink time into big, complex, self-contained concepts you don't have resources to finish properly. Start small but complete - then polish it as far as you can. Next year's goal: get the game to playtests and tune the gameplay from there 🚀

😳🐈‍⬛ This is a tough theme. Bad/good luck, witches, night stealth, Poe, ... ? I bet a lot of games just feature a black cat character.
