If you don't want shit to get messy then a General Strike is the best non-violent act we can engage in. But if we don't, things are going to get bloody and messy. One way, or another.
Portland cannot keep up with these transportation cuts. Once, Portland had the best transit system in the country, and yet the Uber wealthy demand to siphon off the lifeblood of our city, as Robber Barons have always done. Well, I'll happily give them something to cry about in January, 2029.
Gonna be honest with y'all. If you want black people to know you're a safe white person to be around this is how. Don't break bread with those spewing hate. Break their noses. Punks will tell you to "Never tolerate a Nazi at a punk bar, cause if you do it'll become a Nazi bar." Use that mindset.
This is the energy we need to be taking with neo-confederates, fascists and other bigots. This is the energy we need to spit into the face of the "Greater Idaho" chuckleheads. Oregon was on the wrong side of history last time, let's not be this time.
Politicians, like myself, are never going to be the solution for the problem. At best we'll do what we can to keep the boot from your neck, and I've come to terms with the fact that due to my health, this is the best I can do to help. But we all must never fail to help and protect our neighbors.

We are currently watching the looming cliff of death encroach. The ruling classes must be made to let us live, we cannot keep watching with our hands tied as the end comes to us all. So, organize, engage in mutual aid, and for the love of all that is don't just vote.
The Democrats will stop at nothing in order to continue their game of push and pull with the Republicans, should we all die in a nuclear inferno the last Democrat and Republican will be patting each other on the back for reaching across the aisle.
Housing First, that is and will always be the first and only solution that works. Instead of granting landlords handouts so they can keep their 15% unoccupied rates, we should instead be charging them a tax for every unused unit. Taxed at the rate of that company's most expensive unit in Portland.
The amount of middle of the road liberals, and corporate shills in City Hall is infuriating and fills me with dismay. We must build leadership that protects the people who are most vulnerable, not give into billionaires throwing temper tantrums.

Portland and her Metro need leadership from fierce, intelligent people with integrity and dreams for a better, healthier Portland. Not from adult-children like Chair Harrington who will capitulate to Oligarchs and act like a damned middle schooler.

Doing so under harmful leadership, compounds the issue. I stand with Commissioner Fai. An apology is not enough for continuous disrespect.
i'm traveling and can't sit down to write out the portland police's history of using town halls, press conferences, and leaks to campaign against elected officials but they are repeat offenders and we should call it what it is: election interference by a cartel of armed washington state residents

We must learn to break the shackles that CoIntelPro put around our wrists. We must come together and ensure they know that we know there is a whole helluva lot more of us than there is of them.
None of us are truly prepared for the devastation that is looming on the horizon. We must act in order to help alleviate this issue, and here's the thing: If we could cause it, we can fix it. Humanity is not too weak to prevent the 6th mass extinction from continuing. We just must act.
The way we, as a society, treat unhoused people is beyond sickening. Even if statistically you and I were not all one bad month away from being unhoused, it still would be sickening to treat a fellow human with such contempt.
