We had this alongside - at best - total contempt for those opposing austerity, war, racism, police violence and genocide.

of course he wasn't 'more qualified than every other candidate' because *it's very rare that that kind of clear distinction actually exists in hiring, especially in oversubscribed and underresourced jobs like academia.*. It always becomes somewhat arbitrary at the end.

I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.

One of the most gorgeous things about London in summer is the abundance of orange-red Pelargoniums in so many windows, basements, balconies, and steps. Theyre bold and architectural, but add a softness to the harshness of the city.

I was not informed by the BBC that they would have a right wing political figure or lobbyist on after me to rebut what I said. The individual in question went on to spout lies about China, etc. to distract attention from the Trump administration's assault on climate action. This is unacceptable.
