Since Opus 5, claude code has been occasionally printing random chinese characters in its output. This morning I got a huge dump: half a line from my stuff then screenfull of someone's javascript UI tasklist in chinese. I imagine someone else must be getting random globs of my session output? No?

Are data center builders just straight up bribing local governments? I don’t get why projects are approved over such strong public opposition.
Maybe just back off with the evaporative cooling in data centers and spend some money for AC units and solar farms. People would be fine with this.
The Colbert public access show from Monroe, Michigan is really the best TV show.

I am a pedantry enjoyer. Someone misspelled sieve. Maybe.
Annoying business jargon: don't call a cascade of filters a "funnel", e.g., N million ad impressions, 50% read, 2% clicked, 5% converted = 5N thousand sales. Dude, that's not a funnel. In an actual funnel, everything you pour into the big end comes out the small end. That's literally what it's for.
It’s very cold here today, but quite sunny. Apparently my batteries are hotter than the sun. I think it’s a sign.

EVs making a subtle, shifting musical chord sound so we know they are there? Great idea. Good job car companies who do this.
@felixge.de hey there, it’s been a minute, but our interests continue to align. Would you be up for a chat with me and some colleagues about Go profiling? We are DD customers, but this is some lower level stuff we are dealing with.
I took another Waymo in Tempe, AZ today. These things continue to be amazing. Nice job @johnkrafcik.bsky.social
@daveanthony.bsky.social I keep thinking that j-town is funny. I know that opinions differ on the matter.
"I don't want a Disney vacation of our history! I don't a whitewashed history, I don't want a homogenized history. Tell me the wretched truth about America, because that speaks to our greatness" -- 20 hours into his speech, Cory Booker is spitting absolute 🔥

Slack is down, which doesn’t happen very often. Easy to forget how deeply integrated Slack is into many workplaces.
SLOs are good and more people are using them now which is also good. But what verb should we use for going outside of an SLO? I like “blow” as in, “as GC crept up, we blew our SLO”.
It’s weird that I’m slowly turning into a LLM apologist. Obviously there are tremendous risks for humanity here, but LLMs are also a very useful innovation with real human benefit. I liked this podcast ep: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s...

If you are a computer programmer ("coder") these days, you cannot afford to ignore AI software creation. It's not perfect, but will make you 10 or 20 times faster than the person next to you. Same for medical analysis like reading x-rays and summarizing patient histories, all in play TODAY.
