Yay! There’s been a cancellation and my surgery has been brought forward to next Wednesday. I’m partly very happy and partly terrified. They are going to fuse my wrist to my hand for a few months so I can’t bend it. Then another operation to take that metal out. 😱

I saw the CT scan of my hand. It looks like a steamroller has run over the metatarsal bones. Fingers are all good. Radius and ulna have the ends snapped off and the palm of my hand bones are a crunched up mess and have kind off slid up my arm behind the radius and ulna. None of it makes sense. 😭😭😭
Well, this didn’t turn out very well, to put it mildly. Failed bone graft. Back to surgery in a few weeks. Hurts like hell. 🇳🇿😱
Just starting to wake up after nodding off to sleep all day. Pain last night was extreme so I barely slept. Feeling better now though, although I can’t do much with only one arm.
Post wrist surgery. Thanks to Morpheus for the milk of the poppy. 🇳🇿
Surgery has now been confirmed for next Wednesday. They’ll reopen the scars on either side of my wrist and take out the damaged metal plates. Hopefully it can heal properly then. I feel like I’ve had an operation in every hospital in Auckland over the past four years. #kikorangi

After 10 weeks on Wegovy I am 6.5 kg lighter. Apparently this translates into 26 kg less loading on my knee, which has to be good. My knee doesn’t seem to have got the memo yet, but I’ll persevere. This medication really needs to be funded. #GLP1 #semaglutide #kikorangi
