RIP, Dolly Parton. On the final day of the fair—I brought the unfinished piece to share with people waiting in the long lines. While I might experiment with soaking and curling wheat shafts in the future, she will likely remain unfinished as I do not have plans to submit this next year.
Just courious…How long did you stand in line to see the MN State Fair crop art exhibit?
The Crop Art at MN State Fair is more incredible than I expected, and I expected A LOT. 600 entries, an overwhelming number to peruse. For me, Twine Ball, Blue, Bridge Over Troubled Water and Last Day in the Park with Quinoa, red, The Spectacle, white. Witness, MIA Honorary Mention

I am headed to the State Fair today to see all the crop art in a newly configured space. Tip for those who will be heading there too in coming days, I have heard from reliable sources that the Crop Art queue will start outside near the Skyride. See you there!
We should be taking bets on how many times I have misspelled Stroozas…..seriously. I think I have it right, and then I look back and it is wrong. My apologies to all the Stroozas in the world.

Do not obey in advance means defending ideas as institutions until you lose that fight. I simply cannot tell this loud enough— the law, our Constitution, means what we say it means. Let the Supreme Court tell us we’re wrong. But until then, cede no ground to corrupted visions of law.
