The solution to America’s housing crisis isn’t federal talking points, it's local reforms that actually build more affordable housing, says urban economist @jennyschuetz.bsky.social. This is about people “not being able to live in the communities where they work." #Velshi
A housing crisis for an entire generation
Urban economist Jenny Schuetz says America’s housing crisis is the result of years of underbuilding—especially in the places where opportunity is greatest—and it won’t be solved by federal talking points alone. Real change, she argues, has to happen at the local level through reforms like zoning changes that make it easier to build more affordable housing. “This is about 24-year-olds not being able to move out of their parents' house and live independently, people not being able to buy their first home, essential workers not being able to live in the communities where they work,” she says.

Republican lawmakers, particularly in the Senate have relinquished their responsibilities to the American people and to the Constitution they swore to “support and defend”. Today they serve to please Donald Trump
Wouldn’t it be great if we had a functioning Republican Party that had a few people in it who were willing to occasionally stand up and call out the worst abuses of power and corruption of their leader? Instead, the Republican Party operates like an organized crime family.
