Sue Cowley@suecowley.bsky.social · 2y agoThe idea that an instant consequence for low level (often minor) issues will 'manage' behaviour is imo one of the reasons why suspension rates have jumped in some MATs. Effectively you end up 'managing out' any learners who might benefit from more flexible approaches. 1/4 🧵

Taking my four year-old to see Paddington 3 over the weekend. I am significantly more excited about it than she is.
This is a great read. I'm a few years into my headteachering now, and I love it, but none of the senior leaders that I know aspire to headship - they feel that it's a lot of hard work with little financial reward. I believe that as with everything else in education, you don't do it for the money!
