Neighbors organizing Neighbors to keep our communities safe. Linktr.ee/mspwhistles

In Minnesota we love our Somali neighbors. The power of Minnesotan’s love for our neighbors was on display all winter. And our solidarity is stronger than ever.

Honestly. If that guy’s strategy is to wear us down, then he doesn’t understand Minnesota and our winters. We endure and thrive because of each other. To my Somali neighbors and friends - you are needed and loved.

Minnesotans are once again standing in solidarity with our friends and neighbors in Maine, as we hear the news of another murder by ICE. To the people in the streets in Biddeford, we are with you.

Twin Cities- Did you get out of the habit of carrying a whistle? It’s time to tag back in ICE vehicles have been spotted in many neighborhoods this week. Form a crowd, stay loud, and protect our neighbors.

Today is day 150 of the ICE occupation of MN. And residents of Minneapolis are learning that in the immediate aftermath of the murder of two of our neighbors, the chief of MPD was signing an agreement with the Feds. ICE and Border Patrol blocked investigations of Renee and Alex’s murders. 1/?

Before federal agents descended on Minneapolis, dozens of city police officers worked with the regional Homeland Security Task Force. City officials say the task force was not related to civil immigration law enforcement, but some say this cooperation doesn’t help efforts to repair relations.

Today is day 149 of the ICE occupation of MN. In impacted neighborhoods across the metro, you see these signs everywhere. We won’t forget what ICE has done here. And we won’t stop standing up for our neighbors.

Today is day 148 of the ICE occupation of MN. This morning, neighborhoods across the Twin Cities woke up to raids on daycare centers, with families confronted by armed federal agents when arriving for the day. Children that have already been through so much are experiencing renewed trauma. 1/2

Today is day 143 of the ICE occupation of MN. To our elected representatives, let’s be clear: The moderate position is to ABOLISH ICE. Minnesotans will not settle for less. And neither will our friends and family across the country who have also experienced ICE in their communities.

Today is day 141 of the ICE occupation of MN. This thread exemplifies the actions of ordinary Minnesotans, who have spent the last five months doing whatever is needed to help their immigrant neighbors - mostly be doing things they never would have imagined before!

Alright, I’m home now so here’s the Norm update. Yesterday at 4pm, I got a text from a family I’ve been helping who had a loved one abducted a couple of days after Renée Good’s murder. This was the family that Norm Nation kept from being evicted (and you delivered). ICE had released their loved one.

Today is day 139 of the ICE occupation of MN. If ICE hasn’t come to your city or town yet, let us tell you: NOW is the time to organize. Build trusting relationships. Get folks into Signal groups now, based on trust and connections. It will make what comes next so, so much easier.

Today is day 137 of the ICE occupation of MN. A group of organizers were discussing the lessons of the last 5 months, and came up with two key lessons Minneapolis residents have learned again and again: No one is coming to save us. and We keep us safe. Let’s keep taking care of each other.

Today is day 133 of the ICE occupation of MN. You’ve seen Minnesotans fundraising to keep folks in their homes- and this is the next major need for many families. The impacts of the surge are felt by so many people in so so many different ways.
