People asked, we answered. How books get ranked on Kobo 👇 (down, as in "look at this link down here", not "how books get ranked down")
Click links. That's it. You see a Kobo link here? Click it. Kobo is transparent about how their rankings work--it's a dynamic system, sorting books by "temperature". Sales very much matter! And also: clicks. All this contributes to a book's "temperature".
this is insanely good value for your second-half-of-summer reading. And not just fiction. Cookbooks, poetry, history, small press awesomeness - it's the best.
Kobo is running a promotion for their Kindle Unlimited competitor service Kobo Plus, from now through August 4 where you can get a 14-day free trial and then your first month after that is 99 cents- might be a good time to check it out if you've been wanting to! Unsure if this promo is US-only!
It's Canada Day! 🇨🇦 Today’s question: How Canadian is Kobo? (Or… Is Kobo Canadian?) Let’s discuss. 🧵
Storygraph + Kobo integration is LIVE!! Go to your Kobo account, look for Integrations, and start syncing your reading! (We said June and it *is* still June 😅)
The return on taxpayer investment for libraries is insanely good: access to resources, information, technology, social mobility. Small towns need libraries. Come on Nova Scotia - you are better than this!

Very interested to hear where this goes.
There's a situation unfolding in the land of online bookselling that I haven't discussed primarily because I have little information to share. An unknown company is making multi-volume purchases, and when I say multi-, I mean some of us have been getting 500 orders a week. For REALLY random books.
Next month: @kobobooks x @the.storygraph now with reading activity sync-ing from your Kobo ereader. Why? a) StoryGraph is awesome - just a great group of people to work with with a very similar vision of what a great reading life looks like;
The best way to start the day: find out that you have been added to a Bluesky list called “Joy” that appears to include Scottish poetry, Mark Carney political updates, videos of seals, Zelensky appreciation, Halifax crime updates, and Nova Scotia Power outage reports. Life goal achieved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is such a good idea. We should do this in NYC. "All Chicago Public Schools students now have access to nearly everything the city’s libraries have to offer — including physical items like books as well as extensive digital resources." blockclubchicago.org/2026/04/08/c...

Posting about ereader longevity and Kobo inspires friends to show all of the Kobo's they own. It's the best. Please note Kobo Mini on the right from 2013 - the love people have for the Mini will never die ❤️
Je suis resté fidèle à Kobo! J’ai eu Kobo Mini, Kobo Touch, Kobo Aura.... puis j’ai basculé sur Kobo Glo HD
Today’s burning question: how long does Kobo support its ereaders? And by support I mean how long they get updates, patches, security updates, and bug fixes to keep working. Short answer: a freakishly long time. Long answer below. 🧵
Kind of wild this was in Bezos’s Washington Post. I approve. And may go Kobo. www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...
Column | I broke up with my Kindle. My new e-reader treats me better.
After Amazon’s Kindle removed my ability to download and back up my own e-books, I went in search of an alternative.

I’m sure there is a witty metaphor to describe the process of trying to move 100,000 photos from Google Photos to Apple Photos, but I’m too exhausted to find it. It is shrivelling my will to live.
Obama has the crowd at Jesse Jackson's eulogy hanging on his every word
Obama on Jesse Jackson: "The message he sent to a 22 year old child of a single mother with a funny name, an outsider, was that maybe there wasn't any place, any room, where we didn't belong"
Was this excellent article at one point the Number 1 trending article on @theverge.com ? Affirmative. Did it *stay* at no.2 even after the Apple MacBook Neo announcement? Indeed it did. Such is the power of the Kobo Remote. No one can take it away from us 😂
“Is there a technology the left is excited about?” MRNA vaccines! Solar, wind and tidal power! Cancer immunotherapies! Space telescopes! Desert stabilization planting programs! Fusion research! Alzheimer's research! (And a few really nice reading technologies that aren't bad either...)
What a game! Sid goes down hurt and the whole team finds a new gear. Guys in supporting roles become instant stars. And Binnington continues to build his place in the pantheon of Canadian goalies. 🇨🇦 #TeamCanada #Olympics2026
Back-to-back Canadian hockey is giving me everything I need this morning. Canadian women absolutely handled the Finns, dusting off after the US, and now Canadian men are up and you can see Connor McDavid just vibrating off his skates to get in there and mix it up. Set the tone!! 🇨🇦
Loving this Express review. --> "after using the Kobo Remote, I think I get it. And hey, if there’s one screen in my life that it’s not so bad to be staring at, it’s my Kobo's." Yes, you don't think you need it. Yes, you should have it anyway. We're in the small, joyful improvements business.
I tried the Kobo Remote, the viral e-book gadget that keeps selling out
The Kobo Remote is the e-reader accessory I scoffed at before enjoying, but you probably don't need one.
