Hi, I’m Matthew! Writer and reviewer for NintendoWire. Proud husband and father to multiple species.

Maybe a hot take: Avatar Legends: The Fighting game will be the best fighter of 2026, even above Marvel Tokon. I really enjoyed this one, even if it is currently needing more polish and missing crucial features. Read more: nintendowire.com/reviews/avat...

🧵Some are concerned that Mark Walter, billionaire owner of the Lakers & Dodgers, has a stake in private prisons and that is why the Dodgers sicked up to Trump last week on visiting the White House. Walter's company divested prison holdings last year ($12m of $300B+). Could be something else...

Happy Denshattack! release day! This game is simply joyful and an incredibly fun experience. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll ride cell towers like they’re snowboards. It’s great. Most entertaining 10 hours I’ve seen all year. nintendowire.com/reviews/dens...

Review - Denshattack! on Switch 2

There are plenty of on-rails arcade games. You can probably still find most of the classics in your local arcade: Virtua Cop, House of The Dead, and Jurassic

Shadow Labyrinth takes Pac-Man to mazes he’s never explored before — those of a sprawling, gritty Metroidvania. Combining exploration in a futuristic sci-fi world with Hollow Knight-esque combat and arcade gameplay, the game is ambitious. buff.ly/z8jRT5v

Bleach: ReBirth of Souls is the most disappointed I’ve felt playing a game I’ve been looking forward to in quite awhile. I think I’m ready to move on from the Animè arena fighter thing.

Xenoblade chronicles X Bleach rebirth of souls and assassins creed , Atelier Yuma the Alchemist of memories & the Envisioned Land , 33 immortals, Reign Breaker and more comes out this week ! March has been a good month for different kinds of games!

I just don’t understand why we are taking a step back from World’s living ecosystem and fantastic exploration as well as Rise’s great pacing. Wilds is claimed to be a spiritual successor to World, but it definitely isn’t presented as such nor does it play like it

Monster Hunter World > Rise > Wilds I do not enjoy on-rails walking segments with bad dialogue and an inability to venture off-path. That is at least 60% of Wilds’ gameplay 6 hours and 7 hunts in. When exploring, you are encouraged not to hunt any monsters you don’t have a quest line for yet.

Star of Providence is a great addition to the Switch’s library of twin-stick shooters, roguelites and dungeon crawlers! If you like Gradius, Enter The Gungeon, Nuclear Throne, ZeroGunner, etc. this is a must! The spooky atmosphere was a great surprise too. nintendowire.com/reviews/star...

Review - Star of Providence

We’ve seen a lot of games like Star of Providence in the Nintendo Switch’s lifespan. Buzzwords like “roguelite,” “top-down,” “dungeon-crawler,” and

Takeaway from City of The Wolves beta: The announcer sounds like Willem Dafoe I’ve had way more dropped matches than I have complete matches Rev system is brilliant, especially with choice of placement in health bar. Essentially an EX system The game is fun as hell when it’s functioning
