I wrote a short essay for this on how we racialize furry characters. It touches on how we apply racial signifiers and how we interpret them. It also stands in opposition to the idea that furry characters can be considered "raceless."

FA regardless of your personal feelings, is the core of the fandom and losing it would mean YEARS AND YEARS of art, messages, pages, and memorials for people that have passed, would be gone. We CANNOT allow ourselves to rely simply on sites like bsky, twitter, insta, etc. etc. to be our defaults.

There's so much art, literature, and music that we would just lose forever if FA disappeared, a lot of it made by people who are no longer with us. For better or worse, FA is an important repository of our community's history. In a world that is trying to erase our story, we can't afford to lose it.

You don't have to agree with every direction FA has taken. But losing Fur Affinity would legitimately be one of the most catastrophic things that could happen to the furry fandom. Literal decades of art, including much that can't be found anywhere else, gone. Get FA+ if you can.

glad this is all rolling out while I'm adjusting to new medication and getting back to routine stretches. Fuck I was loosing weight from stress ruining my appetite down to basically half a meal a day but I'm on the up now with eating again
