Commissioner - could you explain in plain language what the amendments are asking for? I'm curious if the amendments would reduce the overall funding for the renovation package, or shift some of the money to the city?

Don’t miss this on July 28th. Join Commissioner Megan Moyer @multcomoyer.bsky.social and me for coffee and tea in Goose Hollow at Bold Coffee & Books. Please RSVP so we know who we’re expecting. It’s a cozy space and open to the public. www.eventbrite.com/e/city-count...

Yesterday, Multnomah County's budget passed with my amendment to fully restore all funding to SUN Schools. With families impacted by ICE, inflation, and reduced protections by the Trump admin, it is crucial we continue to provide services like SUN to support those in our community most impacted.

Drop by and get to know the service providers working in our community. It’s a simple, friendly way to learn about the various MultCo resources you can access throughout the year. #MultCoD1 When: May 21, 12-4:30 Where: DHS Training and Conference Center, 11826 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR 97220

It is my sincere apology that those who live close to the ICE facility, including veterans and seniors, have been forced to endure the harm caused by the federal government's excessive and atrocious use of chemical munitions. #MultCoD1

Multnomah County monitoring air quality next to the ICE facility
Households living next to the ICE facility experience severe health impacts caused by use of chemical munitions. As a result, they:
• Need medical care
• Are unable to work
• Are unable to pay rent
This is not acceptable. While the County is limited in how we can restrict the federal government, we can and are collecting air quality data.
Data will become and remain available to everyone in June, including those seeking recourse against the federal government.

Anyone who wants a #PFA sign can pick one up at the Multnomah Building front desk, 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. If you want a sign up but cannot pick one up, email me at district1@multco.us. PFA applications are open the entire month of April. Apply at pfa.multco.us. Link in bio.

Just stopped by the Multnomah Building and picked up a PFA sign!! So cool to see the county gov giving these out. It is crucial we are vocal about our support for this amazing program!

For every $1 free preschool spends, it generates $13 in earnings. Preschool For All gives back to the community far more than it costs and supports the labor workforce beyond mothers. PFA is economic development. PFA applications are open the entire month of April. Apply today at pfa.multco.us

Delighted to share our revised paper (w/ @juliaturner.bsky.social & @jacobbastian.bsky.social ) showing that Universal Pre-K has broad effects on local labor markets — effects well beyond only mothers. Larger effects for full-day programs. nber.org/papers/w33767 #EconSky #EarlyChildhood #ECE
